Für die Einen ist das Warten ein notwendiges Übel, dass es zu ertragen gilt. Sie ertragen das Warten genauso, wie sie es ertragen, dass ihnen ein Schweißtropfen langsam die Wirbelsäule hinunterläuft. Für die Anderen ist Warten die Hölle des ultimativen Kontrollverlusts: Verlorene Zeit. Denn am liebsten würden sie gleich weitermachen, anstatt hier, jetzt, an dieser Haltestelle zu stehen. Sie möchten sich aufmachen, die Tasche nehmen und losgehen, zum nächsten Termin, anstatt hier, jetzt, auf ihre Verabredung zu warten. Jede Minute Verspätung fühlt sich für sie an wie ein verschwendetes Leben. Jede Sekunde ist ein ätzender Säuretropfen auf ihrem Terminkalender.
Sie wissen sicher selbst, zu welcher Personengruppe Sie gehören. Ob Sie zu den Geduldigen oder den Getriebenen gehören. Egal, wie Sie das Warten ertragen – oder auch nicht ertragen – San Attesa wird Sie mit einer Person bekannt machen, für die das Warten eine quasi-religiöse Erfahrung ist:
„Attesa“ bedeutet auf Italienisch soviel wie „Wartezeit“, oder „das Warten“. Inspiriert wurde dieser Kurzfilm von einer Erzählung des italienischen Autors Giorgio Manganelli (1922-1990). In seinem Buch Centuria (zu dt.: „Irrläufe“) hat er 100 solcher kurzen Erzählungen versammelt. Die Person des „leidenschaftlich Wartenden“ kommt in der Erzählung Nummer 33 vor.

Per alcuni l’attesa è un male necessario da sopportare. Sopportano l’attesa così come sopportano una goccia di sudore che scorre lentamente lungo la schiena. Per altri, l’attesa è l’inferno della perdita di controllo definitiva: il tempo perso. Perché vorrebbero andare avanti subito, invece di stare qui, ora, a questa fermata. Vorrebbero alzarsi, prendere la borsa e andare al prossimo appuntamento, invece di aspettare qui, ora, il loro appuntamento. Ogni minuto di ritardo sembra per loro una vita sprecata. Ogni secondo è una goccia di acido corrosivo sulla loro agenda.
Sono certo che Lei stesso sa a quale gruppo di persone appartiene. Sia che apparteniate al paziente che all’operatore. Indipendentemente da come sopportate – o non sopportate – l’attesa, San Attesa vi farà conoscere qualcuno per cui l’attesa è un’esperienza quasi religiosa.
Questo cortometraggio è ispirato a un racconto dell’autore italiano Giorgio Manganelli (1922-1990). Ha scritto 100 di questi racconti nel suo libro Centuria. La figura del „aspettatore appassionato“ appare nella storia numero 33.

For some, waiting is a necessary evil that must be endured. They endure waiting just as they endure a drop of sweat running slowly down their spine. For others, waiting is the hell of the ultimate loss of control: lost time. They would love to move on right away instead of standing here, now, at this stop. They want to get up, grab their bag and go, to their next appointment, instead of waiting here, now, for their appointment. Every minute of delay feels like an entirely wasted life to them. Every second is a corrosive drop of acid on their appointment book.
I’m sure you know yourself enough to know by now which group of people you belong to. Whether you belong to the patient or the driven. No matter how you endure – or don’t endure – waiting, San Attesa will introduce you to someone to whom waiting is a quasi-religious experience.
